Introduction
Tomato (Licopersicon escuientum Mill.) is the leading vegetable culture in the Republic of Macedonia. It is cultivated outside, on about 8000ha, 200ha green houses and about 1100ha under plastc houses (not heating). The whole or total production is rate on about 240000t. One year tomato needs in our country is cc 24000t. Acording to this, the production of tomato in Macedonia has export orientation. Basic factor of the production is the genetictype. To make a good choice for variety or hybrid it is necessary to have enough genofond which are registrated in the list of varietes. The purpose of this paper is to give the state review of tomato varietes in R. Macedonia which are registrated after some realized examinations in accordance with the act for seed and seedling material.
Material and Method
If we want to give an account of new created (domestic) and foreign imported tomato varieties in Macedonia, we should name the list of all admited varieties of the state varieties committee. The varieties are studied by determinate method which depend on the way and place of cultivation. The received results ara statistic analyzed and compared with appropriate standards. All examined varieties in this work are grouped according varieties characteristics, there purpose and way of cultivation. Especially are shown the domestic and foreign imported varieties.
Results and Discussion
The first examinations for admiting and introducing of the variety in R.Macedonia, are made in 1995 year. During this period (1995-2001) totaly are admited and explored 90 varieties, domestic 5 and foreign 85.Acording the book of regulation, the admitting of created (domestic) kinds is performed after 3 years examination, but registration of foreign varieties after 1 year research. The early varieties of tomatos, especially hybrids (F1), are examined outside or in shelter rooms (green houses). The researches are done in 2-3 regions. Acording the method of reaserching of early tomatos, are analized many parameters: biological and morphological characteristics of the plants and fruits, whole yields, especially the index of early mature and taste properties of the fruits. Some of examined parameters statistic are analized, tested and are compared with appropriate standards. Examined variety can be admitted or approved (registrated) and introduced in production if it shows significant positive differences for several properties in relation with the variety (hybrid) which it is compared with standards. From group of early varietes admited for registration are 66 introduced varieties/hybrides. From total number of varieties 31 fulfilled minimal requirements to be introduced in production. Varieties was compared with standards such as Balka F1, Arleta F1 , Monika F1, Marfa F1. From group of varieties for processing, total number of tested varieties is 24, from which number 19 varieties are introduced, and 5 are domestic newly created varieties. For standard with which admited varieties are compared was used Heinz 1370, Ventura, Arizona i etc.
Conclusion
The newly created admited introduced varieties and hybrides of tomatoes demonstrates much better results compare with standards. Research in field of creation or introduction of varieties in order to enrich genfond which have multiple meaning in science and practice. For period of (1995-2001) registered are 41 varieties. Enriched genofond of varieties of tomatoes enables the farmers (producers) to choose adequate variety or hybrid as possibility to provide higher profit.
